    Posted On: Jan 16, 2023

    Dear Teamster Brothers and Sisters,

There were multiple people interested in the position of Feeder Steward and Teamsters Local 597 shall be running an election to select people for these positions. The two candidates who receive the most votes will be deemed elected to the positions.

    THE CANDIDATES ARE:
    KEVIN STODDARD
    TYLAR ST. HILAIRE
    PATRICK DILELLO
    AARON BOOTH

The election will be conducted in the following manner:
All drivers who appear on the TTQ list as of January 9th will be deemed eligible to receive a ballot which shall be placed in the blue mailbox on Sykes Mountain Ave in front of the White River Junction Postal Facility on 1/16/23. The voting packets will come in a manila colored envelope with the Teamster Logo in the upper left corner. The packets will contain a ballot, this letter, voting instructions, a white secret ballot envelope marked secret and a blue pre-addressed postage paid return ballot envelope with a white return address sticker in the upper left corner which may be printed or handwritten. The envelope is marked to return by 2/11/23.

To vote in the election, simply mark the space next to the candidate(s) of your choice. For this election, you may vote for up to two candidates. Place your marked ballot in the secret ballot envelope and seal that envelope, then place the sealed secret ballot envelope in the return envelope and close and seal the secret ballot envelope. Mail your vote back without delay as any ballot received after 2/11/23 will not be counted.

IMPORTANT – DO NOT REMOVE THE RETURN ADDRESS LABEL ON THE BALLOT RETURN ENVELOPE AS THIS MAY RESULT IN YOUR BALLOT NOT BEING COUNTED.

If you have not received a ballot by 1/27/23, or you spoil your ballot, please contact Curtis Clough via text or email. Curtis can be reached at 1-802-522-4060 or Curtis@teamsterslocal597.net. This text or email must, at a minimum, include your name and an updated mailing address. It is important that you request a replacement ballot if you accidentally mark next to the wrong candidate as ballots with more than two votes will not be counted. If multiple ballots are received from the same person, the replacement ballot, which will be indicated on the outside of the return envelope, will be the only one counted.

The local union will send out postings to stewards in each facility with election information including a list of candidates to post on the bulletin board.

On the morning of the vote count, the election committee consisting of Matt Maxham and Curtis Clough will pick up the ballots at the Quechee Vermont Post Office at 9:30 AM and ride together to Barre to count the votes. The count will begin at 11 AM that morning and will be held at the Teamsters Local 597 meeting hall at 149 Quarry Hill Road, Barre, Vermont. Members who wish to watch the count via zoom may do so by registering here:

Any objections to specific ballots will be made the day of the vote count in person, or in writing ahead of the vote count.

    Fraternally,

    Curtis Clough
